Investigators searching for the gunman who killed two students at Brown University say the lack of usable surveillance video is significantly slowing the manhunt, according to a source briefed on the case cited by CBS News.

Authorities have reviewed available footage near the scene, but the videos only show the suspect walking along a street and do not reveal the person’s identity or movements after the shooting.

Police are now urging residents to submit any video or images that could show the suspect entering a vehicle, apartment, or nearby residence.

The shooting occurred Saturday evening as students studied for finals, leaving two dead and nine injured.

Police have released several images of a person of interest dressed in black with a face covering. The FBI described the individual as about 5-foot-8 with a stocky build.

Brown University said it maintains a large camera network but acknowledged coverage gaps across its campus. The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.
