French President Emmanuel Macron will host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Paris on Nov. 17 to reaffirm long-term French support for Kyiv.

The meeting will focus on energy, economic cooperation, and defense assistance, as well as progress on security guarantees under the “Coalition of the Willing,” a framework Macron has helped champion.

Zelensky’s visit comes as Russia escalates strikes on Ukraine’s power grid and advances near Pokrovsk and parts of Zaporizhzhia.

Ukraine is urging Western partners to boost air-defense systems and energy support as drone and missile attacks continue to cause widespread outages.

The visit also follows a corruption probe in Ukraine’s energy sector that has drawn concern from European allies and led to multiple resignations.

France remains one of Kyiv’s key military backers, supplying jets, artillery, and long-range missiles. Zelensky will travel to France after a stop in Greece, where he is expected to sign an energy cooperation agreement.
