Mia Love, the first Black Republican woman elected to Congress, passed away Sunday at age 49. She battled with brain cancer for three years. She died at home surrounded by family, according to a post on her social media accounts.

Spencer Cox, the 18th Governor of Utah, expressed his grief, calling Love a true friend and praising her inspiring legacy of service.
