Migrant Caravan Grows To More Than 600 As It Moves Through Mexico

A migrant caravan of more than 600 people is traveling through Mexico toward the U.S. border after initially setting out from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, with an estimated 200 to 400 people.

Migrants from El Salvador, Guatemala, Ecuador and Haiti have reportedly joined the group, known as “Faith and Hope.”

U.S. border apprehensions reportedly reached 8,870 in August 2026, while the Trump administration says illegal crossings have fallen substantially compared with the previous administration.

The caravan has also become part of political debate ahead of the U.S. midterm elections. As it continues through Mexico, questions have emerged online about its timing and organization, although the group’s members have cited different reasons for joining the journey.
