MSNBC will undergo a major rebrand later this year as part of parent company Versant’s separation from Comcast’s NBCUniversal. The network will be renamed My Source News Opinion World, or MS Now, and drop the iconic NBC peacock logo, according to an internal memo from Versant CEO Mark Lazarus.
The move marks the clearest break yet between MSNBC and NBC News. Network President Rebecca Kutler told staff that while the name will change, MSNBC’s mission and programming will remain the same.

The network is building its first Washington bureau and hiring aggressively from outlets like CNN, Politico, and Bloomberg.
Versant will remove peacock logos across all its brands, including CNBC, Golf Channel, and USA Network sports. The changes will take effect before Versant spins out as a publicly traded company later this year.
MSNBC averages 1.2 million primetime viewers, making it the second-most-watched cable news network.
