Elon Musk has walked back controversial comments made about President Donald Trump, expressing regret over a series of harsh posts that caused a public rift between the two.
“I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far,” Musk wrote Wednesday on X, the platform he owns.

The apology follows Musk’s calls for Trump’s impeachment and jabs at the president’s alleged ties to Jeffrey Epstein, which alarmed investors and political observers alike. Musk had previously been Trump’s largest campaign donor.
Speaking to the New York Post, Trump said he appreciated the apology. “I thought it was very nice that he did that,” he said, adding that while he “was not a happy camper,” he holds “no hard feelings.”
Hints of reconciliation appeared to calm markets. Tesla’s stock climbed 2.6% in pre-market trading following Musk’s statement.
