Elon Musk escalated his feud with President Donald Trump on Friday, claiming credit for Trump’s 2024 victory.
“Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,” Musk wrote in a post on X. “Such ingratitude,” he added.

Musk’s remarks come after Trump said he was “very disappointed” in the billionaire and claimed he had “helped Elon out a lot.” The rift deepened this week after Musk criticized Trump’s tax and spending bill as a “disgusting abomination,” blaming it for massive deficits and unnecessary subsidies.
Trump told reporters Musk had known the bill “better than anyone else,” a claim Musk denied. “False,” he replied on X. “This bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night.”
The fallout marks a significant rupture in their once-close relationship.
