Elon Musk fired back at President Donald Trump on X after being blamed for souring over cuts to electric vehicle incentives in the administration’s sweeping tax and spending bill.

“Whatever,” Musk wrote, dismissing Trump’s claim that he only objected to the bill after learning EV subsidies would be slashed. “Keep the EV/solar incentive cuts but ditch the mountain of disgusting pork.”

Responding directly to Trump’s claim that Musk was deeply familiar with the legislation, the billionaire said: “False, this bill was never shown to me even once and was passed in the dead of night.”

The clash follows Trump’s earlier comments lamenting Musk’s turn, noting, “I’ve helped him a lot. I’m very disappointed.”
