Elon Musk confirms that he and President Donald Trump are still on good terms, contrary to the media narrative about their fallout. Musk reposted an explanation about his departure, on his social media platform X, which said legacy media is trying to “convince you” they’re no longer friends, but the truth is simpler: his government role was temporary.
The post comes after Musk criticized parts of Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” in a CBS interview, saying the spending contradicts the goals of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), which he led. Trump later said he would renegotiate the bill and wasn’t happy with some provisions, but praised others.
