New Mexico Reopens Epstein Probe With Search Of Zorro Ranch

Authorities in New Mexico have launched a search of Zorro Ranch, a property once owned by convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as part of a renewed criminal investigation into alleged illegal activity tied to the estate. The New Mexico Department of Justice confirmed the search began Monday but did not say whether investigators had discovered any evidence.

The ranch had previously received less scrutiny than Epstein’s properties in New York, Florida, and the Caribbean. However, the investigation was reopened after the U.S. Justice Department released large batches of documents related to Epstein earlier this year.

Among the files was a 2019 email sent to a local radio host alleging that two foreign girls were buried near the ranch on Epstein’s orders. The claim remains unverified.

New Mexico Attorney General Raúl Torrez reopened the investigation last month. Meanwhile, state lawmakers have approved a bipartisan Truth Commission with subpoena power to examine allegations connected to the property.
