New Pipeline Could Redraw Middle East Energy Routes

A proposed pipeline linking the Arabian Gulf to Israel’s Mediterranean coast could bypass key chokepoints like the Strait of Hormuz and the Suez Canal. The route would move oil overland through Saudi Arabia and Jordan to Israeli ports for export to Europe.

If realized, the project could reshape regional energy flows and reduce reliance on vulnerable maritime routes, though major political and security hurdles remain.
