The war involving the United States, Israel, and Iran has entered a dangerous phase after several days of heavy fighting. The conflict has already produced new battlefield developments and renewed debate in Washington over presidential war powers and congressional oversight.

At least six American troops have been killed after Iran struck a U.S. tactical operations center, according to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.

The fighting has also introduced new weapons. The U.S. deployed LUCAS attack drones modeled after Iran’s Shahed drones and launched the Precision Strike Missile from a HIMARS system for the first time.

U.S. forces have fired tens of thousands of pieces of ordnance, including Tomahawk missiles, while cyber and space units support the campaign, according to U.S. officials.

President Donald Trump said U.S. forces have already sunk nine Iranian warships. Israel claims it has gained air superiority over Tehran, striking missile launchers and air defenses. Meanwhile, the conflict is widening as Iran targets regional shipping and allies like Hezbollah fire rockets from Lebanon.
