Nvidia Deepens Japan Push With New AI Ecosystem

Cosmos 3 Edge is a "world model" designed to help robots and vision AI systems understand and navigate real-world environments in real time

Nvidia unveiled its new Cosmos 3 Edge artificial intelligence model on Wednesday as it expanded its physical AI ecosystem in Japan through partnerships with major industrial companies, reported by CNBC.

According to the company, Cosmos 3 Edge is a "world model" designed to help robots and vision AI systems understand and navigate real-world environments in real time. The launch follows the introduction of Cosmos 3 earlier this year.

The report said Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced a new coalition expected to include Fujitsu, Hitachi and Kawasaki Heavy Industries, describing Japan as well positioned to lead the next phase of AI-driven manufacturing.

Nvidia is also broadening its presence in Japan's healthcare and biotechnology sectors.

According to the company, pharmaceutical firms including Astellas Pharma, Daiichi Sankyo and Ono Pharmaceutical are using its AI tools to accelerate drug discovery.

Nvidia also announced expanded collaboration with Kawasaki Heavy Industries to advance industrial automation, strengthening its long-term investment in Japan's growing AI market.
