Oregon officials have launched an investigation into a Border Patrol shooting in Portland that wounded a man and a woman federal authorities say are linked to the violent Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.
The Department of Homeland Security said agents conducted a targeted vehicle stop Thursday afternoon. DHS alleged the driver attempted to run over agents, prompting one officer to open fire.
Yesterday, two suspected Tren de Aragua gang associates—let loose on American streets by Joe Biden—weaponized their vehicle against Border Patrol in Portland. The agent took immediate action to defend himself and others, shooting them.

The vehicle fled and was later found by local police, who transported the injured couple to a hospital. Both remain hospitalized and are expected to be taken into FBI custody upon release.
Portland police said local officers were not involved in the shooting. Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield said the state probe will examine whether federal agents acted within their legal authority.
The incident follows a fatal ICE shooting in Minneapolis and has fueled criticism from local leaders demanding federal agents halt operations. Federal agencies, including the FBI, are conducting parallel reviews.
