More than 60,000 people have been killed as a result of Israel’s military campaign in Gaza since October 2023, the Hamas-run health ministry says.
It said on Monday the death toll had reached at least 60,034, including 18,592 children and 9,782 women.
Israel launched its offensive in response to the Hamas-led attack on southern Israel on 7 October 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 251 others taken hostage, the BBC said.
