Two senior FBI officials are being fired amid a broader shake-up under President Donald Trump's administration, CNN reported. Brian Driscoll, former acting FBI director, and Steve Jensen, head of the Washington Field Office, are among those dismissed.
CNN reports both men resisted Trump administration efforts to collect names of agents who worked on the January 6 Capitol riot cases. Sources say CNN other FBI agents perceived to have opposed Trump are also being removed.
Brian Driscoll, the former acting FBI director who refused to carry out Trump administration plans for mass firing of J6 agents, is being forced out of the bureau, according to a source directly familiar.

Earlier this year, a standoff unfolded after a push to fire over 100 bureau employees led to internal backlash. Dan Bongino, a conservative podcaster and now deputy FBI director, was appointed during that period.
The push to remove personnel stems from a memo by acting Deputy Attorney General Emil Bove, who claimed the FBI enabled a "grave national injustice" by investigating January 6. The bureau has not officially commented on the firings. Driscoll and Jensen, both longtime FBI veterans, held key roles in national security and counterterrorism.
