UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reportedly warned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about a major Hamas operation roughly 10 days before the October 7, 2023, massacre, according to a Haaretz investigation.
Haaretz reported that senior Israeli security officials were not informed of the alleged UAE warning. The investigation also cited an Egyptian warning to Netanyahu about an unusual and potentially dangerous Hamas operation.
Netanyahu’s office rejected the account as “an absolute lie,” saying he neither spoke with the UAE president at the time nor received such a warning.
Former Prime Minister Naftali Bennett backed the report’s central claims, while Gadi Eisenkot called for a state commission of inquiry into the failures surrounding October 7.
