A new report says Russia is trying to destabilise Europe with attacks on its critical infrastructure – including transportation systems, financial networks, submarine cables and military bases.

A new report by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) says that Russia’s goal is to destabilise Europe with attacks on its critical infrastructure – including transportation systems, financial networks and military bases.

Russian sabotage operations include random acts of vandalism and targeted attacks such as tampering with high-speed rail lines hours before the 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony, cutting submarine cables, and impairing the water supply to a NATO base in Germany.
