Russia has developed an “immunity” to Western sanctions, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Wednesday, according to Reuters. His remarks came one day after President Donald Trump warned Moscow of fresh tariffs and other punitive measures if no progress is made in ending the war in Ukraine.
“We have been living under a huge number of sanctions for quite a long time,” Peskov told reporters. “Our economy operates under a huge number of restrictions.”
President Donald Trump’s said yesterday he would move up a 50-day deadline for Russia to agree to a peace deal in Ukraine to 10-12 days.

Trump announced Tuesday that the U.S. will begin imposing new tariffs on Russia within 10 days if Moscow fails to move toward a resolution. The war in Ukraine, now in its fourth year, remains a flashpoint in U.S.-Russia relations.
Despite the growing pressure, the Kremlin said it continues to take note of statements from Trump and other international leaders, but maintained that its economy has adapted to prolonged sanctions.
