Russia Launches Spring Offensive In Eastern Ukraine

Russian forces have launched a renewed spring offensive in eastern Ukraine, deploying tanks, armored vehicles, and large infantry units, according to the Ukrainian military and analysts.

Ukrainian army chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said pressure has intensified across multiple frontlines, with daily combat engagements exceeding 200.

The report said Russian troops are focusing on key مناطق such as Lyman in Donetsk, a strategic gateway to Sloviansk. Ukraine’s Third Corps claimed the assaults were repelled despite the scale of the attacks. According to the Institute for the Study of War, the size of these mechanized assaults marks a shift in Russian tactics.

President Volodymyr Zelensky warned, in an interview with the BBC, that the Iran conflict could hurt Ukraine by diverting global attention and boosting Russia’s economy through higher oil prices.

Despite Russia’s push, analysts say its forces remain overstretched. The report added that Ukraine continues to rely heavily on drones to counter advances.
