Russia warned on Monday that its position in Ukraine peace talks could change after alleging that Ukrainian drones attempted to strike one of President Vladimir Putin’s residences, a claim Kyiv firmly denied.
Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Russian air defenses intercepted 91 drones near the Novgorod region, with no damage or casualties reported.
He said Moscow had already decided on retaliatory steps but provided no details.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed the accusation as false and accused Russia of trying to derail peace efforts led by the United States.

The claim surfaced hours after President Donald Trump said negotiations were nearing a breakthrough following talks with Zelenskyy in Florida.
Trump later held a separate call with Putin, which the White House described as positive.
