Russia has suffered approximately 1,268,520 troop losses since launching its full-scale invasion of Ukraine on Feb. 24, 2022, according to Ukraine’s General Staff. The figure includes 790 casualties reported in the past 24 hours.
Kyiv also claims Moscow has lost 11,718 tanks, more than 24,000 armored vehicles, nearly 38,000 artillery systems, and over 154,000 drones.
Ukrainian troops have liberated 460 km² of territory since the beginning of the year, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said in an interview with Corriere Della Sera.

Aircraft, helicopters, ships, and air defense systems were also listed among destroyed assets. Ukraine has not publicly disclosed its own casualty figures, citing operational security.
Independent assessments suggest Russia’s losses exceed Ukraine’s. The Center for Strategic and International Studies estimates the casualty ratio at roughly 2:1 or higher in Ukraine’s favor.
A January 2026 CSIS report estimated Ukraine’s total casualties between 500,000 and 600,000, including up to 140,000 killed in action.
