A U.S. fighter jet crashed in southern Iran, triggering a search operation for its two crew members, reported by U.S. officials. The aircraft is believed to be an F-15E, marking the first confirmed loss of a U.S. jet inside hostile Iranian territory during the ongoing conflict.

The fate of the crew remains unclear. Iranian state-linked media claimed the jet was shot down by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and said one pilot ejected. However, such claims remain unverified.

The Pentagon has not issued an official response. The incident comes as President Donald Trump faces criticism over the Iran war, even as he maintains that U.S. objectives are close to being achieved.

According to available data, this is the fourth F-15 lost during the conflict. U.S. officials also reported casualties and injuries among service members as operations continue under heightened risk conditions.
