SpaceX Starship Reaches Orbit In Major Test Flight

SpaceX’s massive Starship rocket reached orbit for the first time Monday, marking a major milestone for Elon Musk’s space company and its plans for reusable spaceflight.

Starship is central to SpaceX’s plans to expand its satellite internet business. The company currently operates about 11,000 active satellites, far more than competitor Eutelsat OneWeb.

The fully reusable rocket is designed to carry larger payloads at lower costs than previous spacecraft. SpaceX plans to use Starship for a major NASA mission next year, including efforts to return American astronauts to the Moon.

The company also plans to launch AI computing satellites using Starship in 2027. Its upgraded V3 Starlink satellites are designed to generate more power and transmit data faster than earlier models.
