Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez is on a fresh visit to China, seeking stronger political and economic ties at a time of rising global tensions linked to the Iran war, as reported by AP.
Speaking in Beijing, Sánchez urged China to play a bigger role in upholding international law and resolving conflicts across regions including Iran and Lebanon.
His visit comes amid strained ties with the United States, after Spain criticized U.S. and Israeli military actions and restricted American military access, the report said.

Madrid is aiming to boost Chinese investment and secure access to key green technologies and raw materials. However, Spain’s trade imbalance with China remains significant, with analysts noting limited progress in rebalancing flows.
According to AP, Sánchez is also positioning Spain as a bridge between Europe and major global powers, including China and India.
The visit underscores Spain’s push for a more multipolar global order, even as its divergence from Washington continues to draw attention.
