A teenager was killed and four others were injured after a lightning strike hit a group of hikers on Mount Blue Sky in Colorado on Sunday, according to the Clear Creek County Sheriff's Office.
The report said five people were caught in the incident near the 14,265-foot summit, including three members of the same family who were hiking together.
According to authorities, one person in the group escaped without injury. Multiple emergency agencies, including the Alpine Rescue Team, Denver Mountain Parks, and the U.S. Forest Service, assisted in the rescue operation.
The Clear Creek County Coroner will identify the teenager who died after notifying the family.
Officials said the incident remains under investigation, and additional information about the victims is expected to be released.
