Texas Set To Execute Second Man Convicted In 2005 Triple Killing

Texas is scheduled to execute 41-year-old Ker’Sean Olajuwa Ramey by lethal injection Wednesday evening for his conviction in the 2005 killings of Samuel Roberts, Tiffani Peacock and Celso Lopez.

Prosecutors said Ramey and co-defendant LeJames Norman went to a home in Edna on Aug. 24, 2005, intending to steal drugs and fatally shot the three victims after finding none.

Ramey’s attorneys have argued that no physical evidence directly connected him to the crime scene. However, a jury convicted him of capital murder in January 2007, and subsequent appeals challenging jury selection and the effectiveness of his legal representation were rejected.

The Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles denied Ramey’s clemency petition Monday, according to his attorney Ronald McIntire. His scheduled execution follows Norman’s lethal injection the previous week.

If carried out, Ramey’s execution would be Texas’ sixth of 2026. Three additional executions are scheduled before the end of the year, potentially bringing the state’s annual total to nine.
