We’ve been assured that the Democratic Socialists of America, who have been winning primary elections and commanding rave reviews from the press, are not communists. Don’t believe the lie. They’re concealing who they are to appeal to low-information voters. Eventually, their masks will come off.
The Democratic socialists are dissembling much the same way that Islamists use taqiyya, a doctrine of duplicity, to cover their fundamentalist beliefs so they can fit in with the West. France 24, the state-owned news outlet, characterized taqiyya in a headline as “the terrorist ‘art of deception.'”
Terrorist sleeper cells have taken “the path of taqiyya,” says French anti-terrorism judge Marc Trévidic, and “one of the best-known jihadist sleepers was the ‘Hamburg cell,'” says France 24, “the infamous group of radicalized students in that German city who went on to execute the September 11, 2001, attacks.” Magnus Ranstorp of the Swedish National Defence University “argues that the concept of taqiyya is an important element of al-Qaida operations.” The terrorist group’s own guidebook includes “detailed instructions on the use of deception by terrorists in Western target countries.”
Democratic Socialists are using similar tactics to cover their true intentions. They even have believers (also known as useful idiots) in the media (of course). CNN’s Kaitlin Collins, for instance, has said “socialism, much less democratic socialism, is not communism.”
As it turns out, “a lot of DSA members are communists,” says Stu Smith in City Journal. In fact, he writes, “the majority of the DSA’s governing board, the National Political Committee (NPC), openly identifies with communist ideology.” Members within the group who have “communist political tendencies now significantly shape the DSA’s leadership.” The organization has become “an increasingly attractive vehicle for bringing together a wide range of left-wing movements, many of which profess to be communist.” DSA national leader David Jenkins has actually admitted “our goal is communism.”
This is all inconvenient for the DSA for now. So its members and supporters lie about who they are. They “literally lie for a living,” says Scott McKay in The American Spectator.
“Listen to these people long enough, and what they want is to use a period of democratic socialism to usher in the communist state. They want to abolish private property altogether,” McKay continues.
If the current trend holds — the radicals have already captured the Democratic Party that nurtured them — the DSA will shed its sheep’s clothing and reveal itself as a communist outfit. Should it ever get that far, the country will be in deep trouble, not unlike the convulsion that rocked us on 9/11. It will be more gradual, not a gut punch on what otherwise would have been just another Tuesday, but more of a rolling wave that ultimately overwhelms.
We will avoid it only if voters understand that the DSA has taken a lesson from the Islamist playbook. We hope they keep their eyes on New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, the most recognizable face of the DSA movement, who is armed with the smug smile of double taqiyya, as he goes about tearing apart that great city and handing it over to barbarians.
