Threat Of U.S.-Iran War Loom Large Amid High-Stakes Nuclear Talks

The Donald Trump administration is moving closer to a potential large-scale military conflict with Iran, as nuclear talks stall and U.S. forces continue to surge into the Middle East, according to Axios.

U.S. and Israeli officials say any operation would likely be a joint campaign far broader than recent limited strikes, with targets extending beyond nuclear facilities to Iran’s military infrastructure.

The buildup includes two aircraft carriers, dozens of warships, hundreds of fighter jets, and expanded air defense systems. More than 150 U.S. cargo flights have delivered weapons and ammunition to the region.

Diplomatic efforts continue but show limited progress. Senior Trump advisers recently met Iranian officials in Geneva, though U.S. leaders say key gaps remain. Vice President J.D. Vance warned that diplomacy could soon reach its limit.

Israeli officials are preparing for possible conflict within days, while U.S. sources say strikes could follow if Iran fails to meet U.S. demands.
