Speaking to reporters outside the White House on Friday, President Donald Trump alleged that former President Barack Obama committed “criminal acts” tied to the Russia probe but acknowledged that the Supreme Court’s recent presidential immunity ruling “probably helps him a lot.”
Trump’s comments follow statements by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who last week claimed to have submitted “overwhelming evidence” to the DOJ showing that then-President Obama and his national security team orchestrated a “Russia-connected coup” to undermine Trump’s 2016 victory.

While the Supreme Court ruled in July that former presidents enjoy some immunity from prosecution, Trump suggested Obama’s associates remain vulnerable: “It doesn’t help the people around him at all.”
Gabbard told Newsmax that the actions of Obama-era officials amounted to a “treasonous conspiracy.” The Department of Justice has not commented on the claims, and no charges have been filed publicly.
