President Donald Trump met Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at Mar-a-Lago on Monday as the administration works to advance the second phase of its Gaza peace plan.
The talks follow recent meetings between US envoys and regional mediators from Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey.
The first phase of the deal, which took effect in November, halted major fighting between Israel and Hamas and enabled the release of hostages and delivery of humanitarian aid.

The second phase aims to dismantle Hamas, secure the return of remaining hostage remains, and establish a transitional governing authority in Gaza.
Progress has stalled as Hamas refuses to disarm and Israel continues limited military strikes.
Netanyahu’s visit came a day after Trump hosted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy for talks on ending the Ukraine war.
Trump has spent the holidays at Mar-a-Lago while conducting diplomacy and is expected to return to the White House after New Year’s.
