President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he held a “very good” phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping focused on trade, particularly rare earth products, and recent agreements between the two nations.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the 90-minute conversation led to a “very positive conclusion for both countries.”

He added that the discussion resolved questions surrounding the complexity of rare earth materials, which are critical to high-tech manufacturing and defense industries.

Trump announced that U.S. officials, including Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, will soon meet with their Chinese counterparts. The meeting location will be announced later.

President Xi also extended an invitation for Trump and First Lady Melania Trump to visit China, which Trump said he has accepted.
