President Donald Trump sharply escalated his rhetoric on the Russia-Ukraine war Thursday, urging that Ukraine must strike inside Russia if it hopes to prevail.
“It is very hard, if not impossible, to win a war without attacking an invader’s country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social, comparing Ukraine’s plight to a team barred from playing offense.

He blasted Joe Biden as “grossly incompetent” for limiting Ukraine’s ability to retaliate, adding that the war would never have started under his presidency, CNN reported.
The comments come as momentum for peace talks stalls. The Kremlin denied that Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, raising doubts about near-term negotiations.

Meanwhile, Russia launched another wave of airstrikes overnight, including one that hit an American-owned manufacturing facility in Ukraine, injuring at least 15 people, according to CNN.
