President Donald Trump appeared to downplay his ongoing feud with Elon Musk during a brief phone call with CNN’s Dana Bash on Monday, telling her, “I’m not even thinking about Elon. He’s got a problem. The poor guy’s got a problem.”
According to Bash, Trump said he would not be speaking with the Tesla and SpaceX CEO “for a while” but added, “I wish him well.”
Trump quickly pivoted from questions about Musk to emphasize his focus on the economy. He told Bash he wanted the day's story to be about America’s economic resurgence, not personal drama.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote, “Prices are down, income is up, our border is closed, gasoline is cheap, inflation is dead — our country is booming!”
In another post, he added, “America is hot! Six months ago it was cold as ice!”
