President Donald Trump has renewed his call to label Antifa as a “major terrorist organization,” warning that its funders should also be investigated under the “highest legal standards.”
Writing on Truth Social, Trump described Antifa as a “sick, dangerous, radical left disaster.”

Antifa, short for “anti-fascist,” is a loose network of far-left groups and individuals often clad in black who claim to fight racism and fascism. Its members have a history of violent protests, including during Trump’s 2017 inauguration and the Charlottesville riots.
Critics argue the group uses intimidation and street violence against conservatives.

The White House has not clarified how the designation would work. FBI Director Chris Wray testified in 2020 that Antifa is “a movement or an ideology,” not a structured group. Trump first threatened such a move in 2020 but faced legal and political hurdles.
