Trump Calls Case Against Comey ‘Easy,’ Signals More Prosecutions

U.S. President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump said Friday he expects more political opponents to face prosecution following the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey.

“I think there will be others,” Trump told CNN as he left for the Ryder Cup in New York.

Comey was indicted Thursday on two felony counts of lying to Congress over his 2020 testimony about authorizing leaks during FBI investigations into Hillary Clinton’s emails and alleged Trump-Russia ties. Trump called it a “pretty easy case,” insisting the charges represent justice, not revenge.

The Justice Department is also weighing charges against former Trump adviser John Bolton over handling classified documents. Trump further suggested Democratic donor George Soros could be investigated, describing him as a “likely candidate.”

Attorney General Pam Bondi declined to confirm details but said “everything’s on the table.” Trump argued the prosecutions are necessary to stop “radical left Democrats” from weaponizing government.
