President Donald Trump criticized Colorado Governor Jared Polis over a portrait of him. In a Truth Social post, Trump accused Polis of promoting a "purposefully distorted" image, calling it the "truly worst" portrait of him he had seen.

He also claimed that many Colorado residents had expressed anger over this portrait, and voiced a preference for having the picture taken down. However, the painting was not commissioned by Polis, instead, it was funded by a 2019 effort led by a Republican state senator.
