President Donald Trump defended joint US Israeli strikes on Iran, saying the operation was necessary to eliminate what he called an escalating nuclear threat. Speaking at the White House, Trump said “everyone was behind us” and described the attack as the last opportunity to act.

Trump said US objectives include destroying Iran’s missile capabilities, crippling its navy, and ensuring Tehran never obtains a nuclear weapon.

He also accused Iran of funding armed groups across the region and claimed multiple diplomatic efforts had collapsed after Iran backed out of agreements.

Trump criticized the 2015 nuclear deal under former President Barack Obama, arguing it allowed Iran to advance toward a bomb.

Oman, which mediated recent talks, said Iran had offered major concessions and that negotiations were close before the strikes.

Trump warned the war could last beyond four weeks and honored four US service members killed in Iranian attacks, pledging continued military pressure.
