President Donald Trump declared his support for a new NATO-led military aid deal for Ukraine during a joint announcement with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in the Oval Office.
The move marks a notable shift in Washington’s stance, drawing attention across Europe. Speaking candidly, Trump said he was “disappointed, but not done” with Russian President Vladimir Putin, following reports of a Russian strike on a nursing home in Kyiv.
“We had a deal done four times,” Trump said. “Then you go home and see just attacked a nursing home… What the hell was that all about?" When pressed on whether he trusted Putin, Trump replied, “I trust almost nobody, to be honest with you.”
Trump also reflected on his standing with world leaders, citing his second presidential victory. “When you do it twice, it’s a big difference,” he said. “These are smart people running big countries.”
