Trump: I Won’t Destroy Elon Musk’s Companies

U.S. President Donald Trump

President Donald Trump pushed back against speculation that his administration would target Elon Musk’s companies by eliminating federal subsidies.

“Everyone is stating that I will destroy Elon’s companies by taking away some, if not all, of the large-scale subsidies he receives from the U.S. Government. This is not so!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “I want Elon, and all businesses within our Country, to thrive.”

The statement follows rising political chatter that a second Trump term could curtail Musk’s access to government contracts or clean energy credits, especially amid rising tensions between the two moguls.

Trump’s comments appear aimed at reassuring both markets and voters that his America First agenda includes space, tech, and auto innovation. Musk’s companies — including Tesla, SpaceX, and Neuralink — have benefited from billions in federal grants and contracts.
