President Donald Trump sharply criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, telling reporters he is “not happy” with Russia’s leader amid soaring casualties in Ukraine.
“He’s killing a lot of people,” Trump said, estimating weekly battlefield deaths at 7,000. “A lot of them are his soldiers.”

Pressed about possible U.S. action, Trump declined specifics, hinting at potential surprises. “I wouldn’t be telling you — we want to have a little surprise,” he said.
Despite ongoing diplomacy, Trump expressed skepticism about Putin’s intentions. “He’s very nice all the time, but it turns out to be meaningless,” he said. Trump’s remarks come amid reports of rising tensions and stalled peace efforts in the nearly four-year-old war.
