President Donald Trump said Friday he will direct Attorney General Pam Bondi, the Justice Department, and the FBI to investigate the late Jeffrey Epstein’s ties to prominent Democrats and major financial institutions.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump accused Democrats of using what he called the “Epstein hoax” to distract from the recently ended government shutdown.
Trump claimed records show extensive interactions between Epstein and figures such as former President Bill Clinton, former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers, billionaire Reid Hoffman, and executives linked to JPMorgan Chase.
He argued that Democrats spent “large portions of their life” with Epstein and insisted the matter requires further scrutiny.
The announcement marks a fresh escalation in partisan battles over Epstein’s network following the release of thousands of congressional documents.
Trump framed the issue as a continuation of what he calls past politically motivated investigations targeting him.
