Trump Pledges U.S. Defense For Qatar Amid Middle East Tensions

Via @GlobeEyeNews

President Donald Trump has pledged that any armed attack on Qatar will be treated as a threat to U.S. security, according to an executive order published Wednesday.

The order allows U.S. forces to intervene if necessary to defend Qatar, which hosts the largest American military base in the region.

Qatar welcomed the move, calling it a milestone for defense cooperation. The order comes after an Israeli airstrike in Doha last month targeted Hamas leaders without warning the U.S., raising concerns in Washington.

Trump’s executive order goes beyond previous Biden-era policies, promising military, economic, and diplomatic support to protect Qatar.

Top U.S. defense and intelligence officials will coordinate contingency plans with Doha to ensure a rapid response.

While binding treaties require Senate approval, the order signals a deepened U.S.-Qatar alliance amid ongoing Middle East tensions.
