President Donald Trump has demanded that Iran compensate Americans killed or wounded in conflicts, pushing back against Tehran's call for war reparations.
Trump said the issue will be included in future negotiations as tensions between Washington and Tehran remain high.
According to the report, Iran's Supreme National Security Council secretary Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr has called for compensation for war damage, sanctions relief and an end to military threats as conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump responded by arguing that Iran should also pay for Americans harmed in past conflicts.
The report said Trump also wants compensation for families of protesters killed during the five-month military conflict.
He maintains that the U.S. military operation was necessary to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.
