President Donald Trump has ruled out sending U.S. troops to Ukraine as part of any potential peace deal with Russia, reassuring his America First base that no ground forces will be deployed. In a Fox News interview, Trump said, “You have my assurance, and I’m president.”
However, he left the door open to limited U.S. involvement, suggesting Washington could provide air support to enforce a settlement. “There’ll be some form of security. It can’t be NATO,” Trump said.
"I'm just trying to stop people from being killed."

European allies, led by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, hailed Trump’s broader pledge of security guarantees as a breakthrough. Leaders in Washington and Brussels are pushing Trump to take a tougher line with Vladimir Putin as fresh diplomatic talks unfold.
Meanwhile, reports indicate Putin offered to meet Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Moscow, a proposal Kyiv declined. The Kremlin leader is scheduled to attend a security bloc summit in China later this month.
