President Donald Trump has said the United States remains prepared to take military action if diplomatic efforts with Iran fail, even as Tehran insists it is not engaged in negotiations with Washington.
According to the report, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said Iran would never allow the United States to determine the timing of war or peace and rejected claims of ongoing bilateral talks.
The report said the U.S. paused its bombing campaign after 13 days of intensified military strikes, although Iranian officials argued the situation cannot yet be described as a ceasefire.
Regional tensions have also extended beyond the military conflict. Iran summoned the French ambassador to protest what it described as interference in its internal affairs, warning Paris against further involvement.
According to the report, continued uncertainty in the Middle East has fuelled concerns over higher global energy prices. Pakistan's central bank cautioned that a prolonged conflict could increase inflationary pressures, although officials expressed hope that price stability would improve if the situation does not escalate further.
