Trump Says Putin ‘Playing With Fire’ After Massive Ukraine Strikes

Russian President Vladimir Putin

Donald Trump warned that Russian President Vladimir Putin is “playing with fire,” following the Kremlin’s most intense drone and missile attacks on Ukraine in months. In a Truth Social post Monday, Trump claimed Putin is risking Russia’s downfall with continued aggression.

“Something has happened to [Putin]. He has gone CRAZY!” Trump wrote a day earlier.

The comments come after Ukrainian officials reported the largest drone assault since the war began in February 2022, with dozens killed over the weekend. Trump suggested his previous warnings about Putin’s ambitions were coming true, saying, “I’ve always said that he wants all of Ukraine, not just a piece of it.”

He also claimed that Russia would already be in worse shape if not for his past leadership. The Kremlin dismissed Trump’s remarks as emotional, trying to downplay the criticism amid rising international scrutiny of Moscow’s escalating assault.
