President Donald Trump said he is not ready to abandon efforts to pressure Iran into reopening the Strait of Hormuz, despite earlier signals suggesting a possible shift.
Speaking to CBS News, Trump said the United States would remain engaged in the conflict for now, though he indicated a future withdrawal remains possible.

The president expressed frustration with allied nations for not contributing more to the military effort. He said countries dependent on oil shipments should take responsibility for securing access, according to CBS News.
Trump also downplayed the threat in the Strait of Hormuz, claiming Iran has been significantly weakened and does not pose a major risk to global shipping. The report noted that Iranian actions have continued to disrupt maritime routes and regional infrastructure.
The comments come amid ongoing tensions in the Middle East, with the U.S. balancing military pressure and calls for greater burden-sharing among allies.
