President Donald Trump suggested the U.S. military could soon be deployed to Chicago as part of his ongoing crackdown on crime, The Guardian reported.
Speaking in the Oval Office, Trump said federal forces are prepared to move “anywhere on less than 24 hours’ notice” and that Chicago “needs help.”

The president did not confirm a decision but signaled that immediate intervention was possible. “We may wait. We may or may not, we may just go in and do it, which is probably what we should do,” he said.
Trump has already seized control of Washington, D.C.’s police force and authorized National Guard troops there to carry weapons.
