President Donald Trump and Trump Media & Technology Group are facing a lawsuit over a service that provides financial firms with early access to posts published on Truth Social.
According to the report, The Intercept Media and the Freedom of the Press Association filed the lawsuit on Tuesday, alleging that the arrangement violates constitutional protections.
The report said Trump Media launched the Truth API in July as a service for Wall Street firms seeking faster access to posts that could influence financial markets.
More than 10 high-frequency trading firms are reportedly paying between $60,000 and $100,000 per month for accelerated access, allowing automated systems to analyse and act on posts seconds before other market participants.
According to the report, the plaintiffs argue that selling advance access to the president's public statements is "corrupt" and unconstitutional.
Trump Media has defended the service as a potentially significant and lasting source of revenue as it seeks to strengthen its finances. The report said the company plans to expand the service to additional technology companies and betting markets.
